Beth Davis

COO, The Carter Center

Beth Davis is the chief operating officer at The Carter Center. She works with the CEO and executive leadership team to build strong relationships across the organization and increase operational effectiveness. She is an advisor to the CEO, bringing a depth of knowledge about the Center’s history and an intimate understanding of the founder’s vision for The Carter Center. She also spearheads the Center’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Committee.

Davis has served as former U.S. President Jimmy Carter’s director of scheduling since 2006. She organized President Carter’s personal and professional daily schedules and coordinated national and international travel. She served as President Carter's traveling staff aide and body person, sitting in on meetings, coordinating events, and providing regular briefings.

An Atlanta native, Davis holds an M.A. in publishing from the University of Plymouth in Exeter, England, and a B.A. in English from the University of Georgia. She completed a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion certificate course from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business and has been trained in compassionate leadership by the Center for Compassionate Leadership in Montauk, New York. Davis sits on the board of the Freedom Park Conservancy. She and her husband live in Decatur, Georgia, with their two cats.
