Art Collection/Volunteer Services is responsible for the professional care of The Carter Center's growing art collection, functioning similar to a museum registrar's office while also providing docent training. The Carter Center's art collection is an eclectic array of more than 1,600 paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints, and other decorative items from around the world. Some work projects are ongoing, such as accessioning new gifts and database maintenance. Certain projects occur seasonally and will vary according to the semester. In addition to working directly with the artwork, the art intern will also work closely with Volunteer Services assisting in the management of approximately 120 volunteers who support the work of the Center.
