Preliminary Statement on Nicaragua's Elections to be Issued at Press Conference Nov. 7 in Managua

Managua, Nicaragua....The Carter Center will issue a preliminary statement of findings on Nicaragua's  Nov. 5 presidential, vice-presidential, and legislative elections during a press conference scheduled for 11:30 a.m. EDT Nov. 7 at the InterContinental Metrocentro Hotel.


Representing The Carter Center at the press conference will be:

  • Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter
  • Former Panama President Nicolas Ardito Barletta
  • Former Peru President Alejandro Toledo
  • Americas Program Director Jennifer McCoy
  • Americas Program Senior Associate Director Shelley McConnell
  • Chief of Mission Jaime Aparicio, former Ambassador of Bolivia to the United States 

The preliminary statement will be posted on  immediately following the press conference.
