The Carter Center Information Technology (IT) department is responsible for supporting organizational missions by providing secure and effective technology platforms. The IT intern will work closely with the programs to implement solutions that support the mission. The focus of their projects will depend on our current needs and their skill set and areas of interest. One common focus area is strategic use and visualization of data. Data-focused projects may involve gathering, cleaning, and organizing data before analyzing it in a GIS or other visualization software. Other areas of focus may include application building, business process management, or user engagement. An intern may choose to focus on just one area or explore projects in different areas throughout the internship. Academic background or interest in global health or international relations is beneficial.
