Carter Center Condemns West Bank Attacks

Atlanta, GA….The Carter Center condemns the recent attacks in the West Bank resulting in four murdered and two injured Israeli settlers. The military wing of Hamas has assumed responsibility.

"I strongly condemn these attacks on civilians," said former U.S. President Jimmy Carter. "Such killing can never be justified. I urge all concerned to consider a mutual, permanent cease fire in Gaza and the West Bank, especially while negotiations are underway. The cycle of indiscriminate retribution must end. This is the time to reinforce those who believe violence cannot provide a solution and to find a path to engage them in the political processes. "
