The Carter Center is deeply concerned about recent events in Ecuador and expresses its support for the constitutional government of this country and its democratically-elected President Rafael Correa Delgado. We lament the disturbances and violence. The Center urges that the problems be resolved quickly through respect for the rule of law and constitutional means.
The Carter Center will continue to monitor the situation closely and supports other multilateral efforts to support the legal order in Ecuador.
