Blog | Video Trip Notes: Jason Carter inÌýMyanmar

The people of Myanmar took a major step in moving their country toward democratic rule, turning out in large numbers to cast their ballots in November 2015 elections.

On election day, The Carter Center deployed more than 50 impartial observers who visited polling stations in every state and region of the country to report on the quality of the elections, which were held in an orderly and peaceful manner.

Jason Carter, chairman of the Carter Center’s Board of Trustees, co-led the election delegation to Myanmar. He reflects on the country’s transformation in this video diary from Yangon.
